Using Colitu on Android

Colitu for Android runs on Android 7.0 and later. On low-end phones it automatically tones down animations so the connection stays fast.

#Installation

1. Use the Android link on colitu.com/download.
2. If you downloaded the APK directly, Android may ask you to allow installs from unknown sources. Grant it only for the file from colitu.com.
3. Open the app and sign in.

#First connection

1. Tap the connect button.
2. Android asks "Colitu wants to set up a VPN connection". Tap OK.
3. A key icon appears in the status bar; you are connected.

Colitu usually connects in under a second. It remembers the last working protocol and quietly moves to the next one in the background if that protocol is blocked.

#Keep the connection alive

Some manufacturers (Xiaomi, Huawei, Samsung, Oppo) close background apps to save battery:

• Go to Settings → Apps → Colitu → Battery and choose Unrestricted.
• On Xiaomi, also enable Autostart.
• You can turn on Always-on VPN under Settings → Network → VPN → Colitu.

#Location and service filters

The Locations tab has All, Fast, AI and Streaming filters. The AI filter shows servers where ChatGPT and Gemini open, and the streaming filter shows servers where platforms such as Netflix work. Both are updated from automatic tests on the servers.

#Troubleshooting

• "Another app is using the VPN": close the other VPN app or make Colitu the default in Android settings.
• Connected but sites do not open: choose another location; if it continues, see Connection problems.
