ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini won't open

How Colitu checks AI services on every server, how to choose a server where your service works and what to do if it still won't open.

AI services such as ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini are not available in every country, and they decide by the address you connect from. Colitu checks them on every server, so you can choose a server where your service opens.

How Colitu checks AI services

  • Every server tests ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini every 6 hours, from its own internet exit address, the same address you appear from when connected.
  • The results appear on colitu.com/servers as tags such as ✓ ChatGPT, ✓ Claude and ✓ Gemini. Each server's page also shows the time of the last test.
  • A server is in the AI category if at least one AI service passes. So in the AI category, always check the ✓ for the service you need.

A ✓ means the check passed at the last test. Providers change their rules, so a result can change before the next test.

Choosing the right server

  1. Open colitu.com/servers and choose the AI category.
  2. Pick a server with a ✓ for your service and look at the time of the last test.
  3. In the Colitu app, connect to that location. On Android you can also use the AI filter on the Locations tab.

The server has a ✓ but the service still won't open

  • Sign out of the service and sign in again. The service may still remember your previous location.
  • Clear the service's cookies or try a private (incognito) window.
  • Turn off Secure DNS in the browser, and check for DNS and WebRTC leaks at colitu.com/tools.
  • Services may notice when your device's time zone or language doesn't match the server's country.
  • On a phone, close the service's app completely after connecting and open it again.
  • On Windows, the desktop apps of these services may ignore the system proxy. Turn on TUN mode so their traffic goes through the tunnel. See Using Colitu on Windows.
  • Try another server with a ✓ for the same service.

If none of this helps, write to support with the service name, the location and the error message. See One site doesn't open with the VPN for more general checks.

The providers' own rules

Some rules are set by the AI providers themselves and are outside Colitu's control, for example:

  • which countries the service is offered in;
  • whether sign-up needs a phone number from a supported country;
  • whether paid plans need a payment method from a supported country.

Colitu cannot verify phone numbers, provide payment methods or change your account's country. Using a VPN does not change these rules: read and follow the terms of use of each provider.
