Colitu now works in your browser: it protects only browser traffic without installing an app and uses the same account.
New features
- New extension for Chrome and browsers that install from the Chrome Web Store, and for Firefox 128 or newer.
- It protects your browser without installing an app; other programs are not affected.
- Works with the same Colitu account, including the free plan with 10 GB every month.
- The extension counts as one device and is removed from your devices when you sign out.
- Sign in with colitu.com: the extension shows a short code that you confirm on the website.
- E-mail and password sign-in also works.
- One button connects to the fastest server; if a server stops answering, it moves to the next one by itself.
- Servers in 11 countries; choose a country from the list and see its code on the toolbar icon.
- If the server cannot be reached, pages do not open, so traffic never leaks outside Colitu.
- WebRTC leak protection while connected, so video-call sites cannot see your real IP address.
- Site lists: keep sites such as your bank outside the VPN, or send only the sites you choose through Colitu.
- Local network addresses always stay direct.
- Russian sites (.ru, .su, .рф) open directly, as in the apps, except when you use a server in Russia; this can be turned off.
- The extension's code is public on GitHub under GPL-3.0, and the store packages can be rebuilt from it with the same checksums.
